St Paul's Cathedral

Self-Guided Visits

  • Teachers are welcome to self-guide their pupils around the cathedral. Please book well in advance! There is a charge of £2.50 inc. VAT per pupil for UK schools -  this is for cathedral and crypt only, (limited allocation per year at this price).
  • Self guiding inc. dome & galleries is £5.00 inc. VAT per pupil.
  • Do not bring cash on the day - your visit fees will be invoiced and sent to you with your booking confirmation.
  • Please ensure there are plenty of adults to supervise the children and  divide them into smaller groups when moving around. Remember, no photography is allowed in the building.
  • If you are a UK school please book via the Schools & Families Department on 020 72468353
  • If you are a school from outside the UK please book via the Admissions Department on 020 7246 8357 or
  • We request that all pupils are closely supervised by your staff/helpers thoughout the visit. Consult your policy guidelines for the appropriate number of adults to children.
  • Please remind children to be quiet, respectful and to move around sensibly as this is a place of prayer and worship. Groups whose behaviour is deemed inappropriate by our stewards will be asked to leave the building.
  • If you wish to climb to the dome and galleries - we request a ratio of 1 adult to 10 pupils.
  •  Please remember that St Paul's is a living/working church, therefore it sometimes has to close for special services. It is crucial that you book in advance so that we can ensure that your preferred date is available. We can also notify you of any forthcoming closures.
