St Paul's Cathedral

Workshops

You may wish to book a workshop in our Schools Centre after taking part in one of our themed visits. These are a great way of enhancing the topic you have been looking at in the cathedral. These are also open to families and community groups on a pre-booked basis.

Create a Mosaic using glass tiles (or create a stained glass window design on acetate)
Ideal for Key stages 1-2

After looking at and learning about the wonderful ceiling mosaics in the cathedral during our 'Mosaics Madness' visit (see KS 1,2 brochure), pupils make a small mosaic tile to take home - this is a great reminder of their visit.

Signs and Symbols Stained Glass and Badge Designs

Key stages 1-3

Pupils explore the many signs and symbols of the Christian faith that may be found all around the cathedral. They discuss what these mean to Christians, and then design and make a badge/stained glass design using these symbols.

Drama and Music

Get in touch if you are interested in something special and unique. These may be added on after many of our themed visits or incorporated into them - but we do need to plan this with you in advance!

The BIG Issues - looking at Philosophy and Ethics based issues
Key stages 3, 4,5

For those studying for GSCE or A-level in Religious Studies and those in KS3 it is invaluable to be able to talk with a practising Christian or member of the Clergy about ethical issues, vocation or any other topics. St Pauls has a number of resident clergy who will lead workshops and address the students' questions on many topics. (This workshop depends on the availability of clergy. Please give us plenty of notice if you are interested and we will try our best to arrange this for you).

Ethics lectures and Debates

Key stage 5

From time to time, lectures and debates are held in the cathedral. Internationally renowned speakers are invited to share their thoughts on contemporary ethical issues. These are open to all members of the public and take place on a weekday evening. They are often suitable for A-Level students. Please look at the Institute and Forum pages for further details.
