Lord Mayor's Show Day
![]() |
50 young dancers and singers from the Urdang Academy performed an eclectic mix of street dance, ballet and musical theatre. Reflections on St Paul’s: A Journey in Dance and Song told the story of the Cathedral and how, throughout its illustrious history, it has adapted to reflect the City and Nation it serves.
2009 marked the 749th Lord Mayor's Show. Following in the footsteps of his predecessors, the 682nd Lord Mayor of London's embarked on a procession from Mansion House to St Paul's Cathedral. The Lord Mayor was blessed by the Dean of St Paul's Cathedral, the Right Reverend Graeme Knowles, before proceeding to the Royal Courts of Justice on the Strand where he swore a pledge of allegiance to the Sovereign in front of the Lord Chief Justice and Judges of the Queen's Bench Division.
