Support St Paul's
Support St Paul's
For centuries St Paul's has graced the London skyline, withstanding fire, warfare, weather conditions and every other test of time but not without continuous effort and considerable sums of money. There is still an on-going need for funds to support the Cathedral which does not receive any government money or money from the church.
In 2000, St Paul's Cathedral Foundation was created to manage the Cathedral's 300th Anniversary Restoration Campaign with a £40 million target to be reached by November 2008. This has been successfully achieved.
Since 2000 the building has been cleaned, repaired and restored both inside and out, with the exception of the North Side, the least damaged face of St Paul's. This remaining work is scheduled for completion in 2011.
New lighting and sound systems have been installed and access arrangements have been improved including the installation of a new lift.
A bespoke Education Centre has been created and is used by nearly 28,000 school children each year who come to the Cathedral for a variety of workshops and programmes.
The Grand Organ has been fully restored and a second mobile console has been built which is played from the Cathedral floor.
Splendid sets of vestments in all of the liturgical colours have also been fashioned.
Much has been achieved during the Campaign but there is still a lot to do.

Some supporters of our Anniversary Campaign are acknowledged on the following plaque in the Crypt of the Cathedral:
