Choral Evensong at St Paul's
St Paul's is open for services and sightseeing, Monday to Saturday and services on Sunday. Service times and opening times can vary so please check the Cathedral calendar page for further information.
Following the Government’s changes to COVID-19 measures in England on Monday 19 July, we have updated our guidance to visiting the Cathedral for worship, sightseeing and for our staff and volunteers. Please visit our COVID-19 updates page to find out more on what to expect during your visit.
Choral evensong is a centuries old daily service which brings together words and music, often sung by our Cathedral Choir and visiting choirs in the summer months.
Taking place as the day draws to a close and lasting around 45 minutes, choral evensong is an opportunity for people to take a moment to pause from their busy lives and reconnect with their spiritual lives whatever they believe.
The rhythm of speech and music works together with the awe-inspiring space under our Dome to create a slowing of heart rate and breathing, and a quietening of the mind. For many it is a calming and deeply personal experience.
You are welcome to join us whoever you are, and whatever you believe. Feel free to come along after work or a busy day in London; there is no need to book or dress up. There are service sheets to guide you through choral evensong and there is no entrance charge to join us at a service.
