Attending a selection session

Our selection sessions, whether meeting 1-2-1, as a group or undertaking a taster session, give you an opportunity to introduce yourself, meet the team, learn more about how volunteering at the Cathedral works, about the role you have applied for and ask your questions.

When you are invited to attend, you will have been informed about the date, time and where you should go on arrival.

On this page you can you find out more about more detailed information on where to go on your arrival and what documents you need to bring with you.

If you have any questions, please email volunteering@stpaulscathedral.org.uk or call 0207 2468 370.

Checking your identity

As part of our volunteer recruitment process, we check identity documents for all new starters. If you are unable to provide proof of identity, you will not be able to volunteer with us until you have. Please contact volunteering@stpaulscathedral.org.uk.with any questions or concerns.

If the volunteering role you are undertaking requires Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check (this is a criminal record check because you will be working closely with children and/or vulnerable adults), our in-house proof of identity check is a separate process to the DBS requirements.  Your Staff Lead will tell you more about completing a DBS check.

Documents we can accept

There are a number of documents we can view. Please note that we are unable to accept photocopies. Our preference is for us to view a document containing your photograph in person, and any document from Group 1 will meet this need.
