The Reverend Timothy Miller appointed as new Succentor
In his new role, Timothy will play a key role in the planning, management, and delivery of daily and special services at St Paul’s, especially those of a musical nature. He will also share responsibility with our Canon Precentor in caring for Cathedral musicians.
Welcoming Timothy to the role, St Paul’s Precentor, The Revd Canon Philip Banks, commented:
‘We are thrilled that Timothy will join the team here at St Paul's. He brings a breadth of experience from the church here and abroad, and his acknowledged style of ministry and leadership makes him well-placed to take on this significant role here, as he contributes to the way in which worship, music and special events bring alive the Cathedral's mission and ministry.’

Speaking about his appointment, The Revd Timothy Miller said:
‘It is an immense joy and privilege to accept this appointment as the next Succentor of St Paul’s Cathedral. I am deeply grateful for the opportunity and I am looking forward to working alongside the rest of the ministers, staff and volunteers of St Paul’s Cathedral.
‘From the first time I walked into St Paul’s Cathedral, I was caught up in the worship and history of this iconic cathedral; I was welcomed as a tourist, a pilgrim and then a deacon and priest within the Diocese of London. It is my desire that all people who come to the Cathedral - from within the Diocese of London and from the wider world - continue to find a warm welcome, an invitation into a living history of prayer, and space to feel the tangible love of God.
‘Meagan, Zahrya and I are excited to join this diverse community and look forward to sharing in the worshipping life, traditions, and events at St Paul’s Cathedral.’
Timothy is currently the Priest in Charge of All Saints' Church in Highgate, a position he has held since 2017, and is already a core member of St Paul’s community, having served as a Cathedral volunteer since 2022. He trained for ministry at Cranmer Hall, Durham and was ordained in 2014.
Timothy’s installation will take place during Evensong on 14th September.
