Young voices shine in summer concert and summer course places announced

Young singers from Hackney Choral took to the stage on Saturday 20th June for a joyful performance as part of the Summer Music in City Churches festival.

Performing at St Mary-at-Hill Church, Hackney Choral joined forces with the City of London Choir and members of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra for a concert entitled Look at the World!. Conducted by Dan Hyde, Director of Music at King's College, Cambridge, and Will Bruce, our Artistic Director of Choral Partnerships, the programme featured John Scott's How Can I Keep from Singing?, Joanna Forbes L'Estrange's For the Beauty of the Earth, and two works by John Rutter: London Town and Look at the World!.

The concert was a wonderful example of the impact of our Choral Partnerships programme, providing young people with the opportunity to rehearse and perform alongside experienced choral singers and professional orchestral musicians. It was also was a memorable chance to develop their musical skills and experience the excitement of performing as part of a large-scale ensemble.
