Become a Music Patron
Music at St Paul’s has an international reputation for excellence; indeed the Cathedral Choir has recently been acclaimed as one of the top 10 choirs in the world.
Our choral tradition sits at the heart of St Paul’s musical heritage and plays a key role in enriching our worship today. Our choir also has an impressive portfolio of recordings, they give consummate concert performances and undertake tours around the world.
Sustaining this world-class standard of music for all to enjoy requires an annual financial investment of £1.3M. The financial pressures for the Cathedral are now even more acute in the wake of the COVID pandemic, and sadly our music provision is under threat. Whilst we are fortunate to have the support of many benefactors who help fund us, we do need to enlist further donors.
To promote our music fundraising, and recognising the appetite that there is among so many of our fellow supporters to become evermore closely involved with our music making, we have re-launched a Music Patron scheme, and warmly welcome new members to become part of this supporting community.
By giving a minimum annual subscription of £500 you can become one of our Music Patron supporters and enjoy the following benefits:
- Invitations to exclusive Music Patron events, both in person and online
- Privileged access to the ‘behind-the -scenes’ musical life of St Paul’s
- Evensong seats in the famous Grinling Gibbons carved Quire
- Opportunities to reserve seats under the iconic Dome for our special services
- Priority booking for ticketed Cathedral events
- Automatic membership of the Friends of St Paul’s
Our Music Patrons enjoy a special fellowship with us and our music, and this sentiment is echoed in these comments from our supporters:
“One of the joys of being a Music Patron is having a seat under the Dome, being up close to the great singing, being able to see the interaction in the orchestra or between the singers, and really see how the technique and skill produces these marvellous sounds.” - Michael Maunsell
“Being a Music Patron is more than simply offering financial support, it’s also the opportunity to gain insights and understanding of how the world-class music team at St Paul's deliver musical excellence on a daily basis. You become part of the musical family.”- Emma Whitaker
