Advent is a time when we prepare to celebrate ‘God with us’ or, as John’s Gospel put it, that ‘the Word became flesh and lived among us’ (John 1:14). In this reflective evening, Paula Gooder will offer a range of reflections for the Advent season around the theme of ‘God with us’, interspersed with music from members of the St Paul’s Cathedral Consort.
In the beautiful surroundings of St Paul’s Cathedral, the evening will be meditative and thought-provoking, reflecting on what difference it makes to know deep in our hearts that God really is with us.
Dr Paula Gooder is Canon Chancellor of St Paul’s Cathedral and a leading Biblical scholar and teacher. She is the author of many books including The Meaning is in the Waiting and Journey to the Manger.
St Paul’s Cathedral Choir is led by Andrew Carwood MBE and is one of the leading choirs in the world.
The event is free, but if you are able to make a donation to the continuing learning programme at St Paul’s Cathedral when you register for the event we would be very grateful.
