Retired only last year, our mother was hardworking & our pillar of strength. She had a twinkle in her eye & a sense of love & mischief. Her feisty, bright character will be sorely missed by her loving family & friends.

Professor Carl Tighe, born in Handsworth Birmingham and taught creative writing at the University of Derby. In 2000 he founded the first undergraduate degree in creative writing in the UK. He is survived by 6 siblings.

Selfless, caring, loving made a difference to everyone he met. Husband, father, father in law, grandfather and friend. Forever missed, forever Loved. Rest in heaven until we meet again.
