Christopher Meredith Buckmaster
1938 - 2020
The only man to be made twice Mayor of the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea. 2003/2004 and 2012/2013. During Christopher's time as Mayor, he raised money to set up New Horizons a convivial social centre for the elderly. Whilst in his second term, Christopher raised a substantial amount of money for the Brain Tumour Research Campaign which enabled them to buy two Sonar Wands. This equipment allows imagery in real time during surgery and therefore gives the patient an optimum chance. His tenacity and dedication to the community also contributed to the development and success of many local state schools.
"His life was gentle and the elements so mixed in him that nature might stand up and say to all the world this was a man."
Shirley Ivy Murray
1933 - 2020
My dear mum, a kind and caring lady. A wonderful grandmother to my 3 sons, who will always be remembered with much love
