Labour party HQ in Barrow is named Garside House for Edith and her husband Joe who were both hardworking local councillors for many years. Edith died from Covid in a care home.

In memory of my beautiful Mother Mary Oakland (nee Cross). Who was sadly taken on the 5th May 2020 unexpected and unnecessary. You were the centre piece of the Family Mum and we lost our world the day you were taken.
