Stonemason Apprentice (Level 2)

Are you passionate about heritage, history, and hands-on craftsmanship? We’re offering a unique opportunity to learn the craft of stonemasonry through a structured apprenticeship programme. Working alongside skilled professionals and attending off site training at the Building Crafts College, you will contribute to the care and conservation of historic buildings while gaining a nationally recognised qualification.About the apprenticeshipThis is a Level 2 apprenticeship lasting 24 monthsTraining includes both on-site experience and college -based learning with the Building Crafts CollegeYou will be supported by a mentor and assessed through practical and written workUpon successful completion of Level 2, there may be an opportunity to further extend the apprenticeship progressing to a Level 3What we are looking forThe successful candidate will:have the passion to learn the craft of stonemasonry;a willingness to attend college and obtain qualifications;able to work at heights with relevant safety equipment where appropriate;  be flexible in attitude and willing to undertake a variety of maintenance tasks.The successful applicant will also be expected to share in St Paul’s Cathedral’s commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults.In return you’ll find we are a welcoming place to work and we each take responsibility for our part in the Cathedral’s work, looking after St Paul’s for the next generation. Our holiday allowance is 25 days plus bank holidays;Our pension scheme allows for up to 7.5% employer contribution;And as you might expect we have life assurance of four times basic salary and an employee assistance programme.We are an inclusive employer and welcome candidates from all backgrounds. The closing date for applications is 6th July 2025 at 11.59 pm. Interviews will take place on 21st July 2025.  We are currently seeking a Stonemason Apprentice, to join our Works department for an exciting apprenticeship opportunity.
