About the role

You'll contribute to the long-term care of this extraordinary building by:

• delivering specialist lead and hard-metal roofing works (bossing, welding, flashings, rainwater systems)
• maintaining and repairing architectural metalwork
• diagnosing faults including water ingress, corrosion and related defects
• carrying out inspections, reporting risks, and recommending solutions
• ensuring all work aligns with LSTA guidance, BS standards and conservation best practice
• maintaining accurate records for conservation and compliance
• supporting safe working practices at height and across a live, public environment

About you

You're a skilled craft professional with a passion for heritage conservation and pride in your workmanship.

Essential:

• Significant experience in lead and metal roofing, ideally within historic settings
• Strong understanding of protecting historic fabric
• Proven ability in fault diagnosis and roof detailing
• Relevant qualification (for example, Level 3 NVQ in Heritage Skills or equivalent experience)
• Confident working at height with strong health and safety awareness
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and conservation requirements

Desirable:

• PASMA / IPAF / rope access / harness training
• Broader knowledge of building fabric (for example, masonry, drainage interfaces)
