Join us for an evening of exploration, reflection and silence centred around the ancient evening hymn, Before the ending of the day ('Te lucis ante terminum'). The service will be a stripped back version of Compline (night prayer) and will focus on the three verses of the hymn, Before the ending of the day. Each verse will be taken in turn with a reflection on the history, language and use of this hymn. Between the singing of the verses there will be an opportunity for contemplation and silence as we settle ourselves into the protection of the Divine and the peace of the evening.
