Cathedral Ministers

Meet the clergy who help organise our services and provide pastoral support to our visitors and worshippers.

There are four full time clergy and one part time priest who are part of our ministry and mission team, but are not members of Chapter. Two are Minor Canons (the Sacrist and the Succentor) with particular areas of specialist responsibility, including ceremonial and musical. Our Chaplain (Priest Vicar) is responsible for pastoral care, and our Associate Minister has a share in our pastoral and liturgical life. Canon Adéọlá Eleyae is part time at St Paul's, and has responsibility for Racial Justice. 

 

The Reverend Paula Hollingsworth

Chaplain

The Reverend Paula Hollingsworth is our Chaplain. The Chaplain’s main responsibility is in offering pastoral support to the Cathedral community and to visitors, and she also plays a part in leading Cathedral services. Before coming to St Paul’s, Paula held a variety of roles in parish and cathedral ministry, teaching, training and spiritual direction in Somerset, Birmingham and Leicester. Paula was in the first cohort of women who were ordained as priests in 1994. Before ordination she taught Maths in Uganda.

The Revd Timothy Miller

The Reverend Timothy Miller

Succentor

The Reverend Timothy Miller is our Succentor. With the Precentor and the Sacrist, as Succentor, Timothy has a share in the planning, management, and delivery of our daily and special services, especially those of a musical nature. He also shares responsibility with the Precentor, for caring for Cathedral Musicians, which includes supporting our Visiting Choirs and assisting in the appointment of organists and the Vicars Choral.

Before becoming Succentor, Timothy was Priest in Charge of All Saints' Church in Highgate, a position he has held since 2017. He was already a core member of our community, having served as a Cathedral volunteer since 2022. He trained for ministry at Cranmer Hall, Durham and was ordained in 2014. 

The Reverend Canon Adéọlá Eleyae

Non-Residentiary Canon with responsibility for Racial Justice

The Rev’d Canon Adéọlá Eleyae is Canon with responsibility for Racial Justice and her role is to ensure that Racial Justice is an integral part of the life and witness of the Cathedral. 

Adé served her title at St Paul’s, East Ham and in the Parish of Walthamstow. Following her curacy, she remained in East London where she served as a part-time Parish priest alongside her various other roles within and outside ministry. Before coming to St Paul’s, she was Director of St Mellitus College, Chelmsford Centre. 

Adé has worked as a Solicitor for over 25 years and has a wide range of experience in the areas of equality and social justice.

Revd Canon Adéolá is a black woman with short dark hair and glasses. She wears a golden yellow embroidered cope and stands before a portland stone wall and an intricately designed gold and black metal gate.

The See of London is currently vacant, and during this interim period, the Rt Revd Dr Emma Ineson, Bishop of Kensington, is the Acting Bishop of London.
