Over his four years of ministry at St Paul’s, Robert has played a key role in shaping and overseeing worship and liturgy. First, as Succentor, he worked closely with the musicians and officiated at sung services; more recently, as Sacrist and Head of Liturgy, he has overseen the work of the busy Liturgical Department, supported the Virgers and Liturgical Volunteers, and led the planning and delivery of major services. These have included a service marking the 30th anniversary of the Srebrenica genocide, the Service of Commemoration for the 20th anniversary of the London bombings, and the recent Service of Thanksgiving for the ministry of the Bishop of London as she leaves the Diocese to become the next Archbishop of Canterbury.

Before joining St Paul’s, Robert was Priest-in-Charge of the Parish of Letchworth, with responsibility for the churches of St Michael the Archangel and St Mary the Virgin. Brought up in Poland, before moving to the UK in February 2008, Robert worked as an organist in churches in Kraków while studying theology and music.

Robert trained for ministry at Westcott House, Cambridge, and was ordained in 2015. He then went on to serve as Assistant Curate in the Parish of All Saints, Leavesden. In 2018, Robert completed an MA in systematic theology at King's College London.

Speaking about his new appointment and reflecting on his time at St Pauls, Robert says,

'I am truly thankful for the unique opportunity I’ve had to serve as both Succentor and Sacrist at St Paul’s, and to work alongside so many creative and talented colleagues, as well as dedicated volunteers. I will never forget the lessons I’ve learned at the Cathedral, and will continue to hold the St Paul’s community in my prayers. At the same time, I am thrilled to take up the new role of Assistant Chaplain and Missioner at the Pro-Cathedral Church of the Holy Trinity in Brussels, and I am deeply grateful to the Bishop in Europe and the Senior Chaplain at Holy Trinity for entrusting me with this new opportunity to serve God in this exciting context.'

The Revd Canon Philip Banks, Precentor says,

‘Robert has been such a good friend and colleague to so many people both within the Cathedral community and beyond. He has overseen the worship in St Paul's for so many organisations and groups, including the City of London, Mansion House and Liveries, making them feel looked after and welcomed. He has organised many special services for the diocese, including for the recent farewell for Bishop Sarah, making worship come alive and inclusive for all. Robert will be greatly missed but we wish him every blessing in this next exciting chapter of life and Christian ministry.’

Robert will leave St Paul’s and begin his new role in May, and on St Joseph’s Day, 19th March, the Sung Eucharist at 5pm will be a chance to give thanks for his ministry at St Paul’s. Robert will officiate Easter Day Evensong at 3pm on 5th April for the final time, and his licensing at Holy Trinity will take place on 2nd May at 2pm. He, his partner, Michal, and their two cats, Etka and Gili, are very much looking forward to relocating to Brussels and to living and working at the heart of Europe.
