Mum was strong and loving. She raised three children alone and never stopped being a great mum and wonderful grandmother. She worked tirelessly for charity and always put her kids and grand-kids first.

'You're a very kind person' to which I replied 'And who was it who taught me to be kind?' I could have wept then My mother was a very public person who led a very private life. The worst wretchedness was not to be with her at the end. A wonderful man with a quiet, gentle soul; a true East Ender. Don, didn't say much but when he did it was straight to the point! Passed away peacefully at The Royal London. Now resting with his beloved wife Maureen.

Mam was quite simply the best, and will be sorely missed by her 5 children, Belinda, Robin, Edward, Elizabeth and Charles and her 6 grandchildren, Lucinda, James, Charlie, Thomas, Albert and Martha. Forever in glory.
