Joan died aged 93 of Covid-19. 11 days later her husband Gordon (93) died of a broken heart. They were inseparable after almost 72 years of marriage. They leave behind 3 children, 3 grandchildren & 3 great grandchildren.

Gertie was born in Eimbeckhausen Germany.She was the youngest of 5 children.At the age of 18 she volunteered with 100 other girls to move to England to help with the labour shortages after the war.
