Fire Safety Officer

We are looking for an experienced Fire Safety Officer, to join our Property team, to ensure the management and compliance of all aspects of fire safety, prevention and protection across all St Paul’s Cathedral properties.

In this role, responsibilities will include:reviewing, updating and, where necessary, developing fire safety policies and procedures to ensure they reflect current legislation and best practice;leading on embedding and championing a positive fire safety culture;developing and delivering (personally or using approved external providers) fire safety training;managing the work within the Action Plan of the Safety Committee;reviewing and developing the organisational level Risk Register for fire safety and supporting the development of departmental Risk Registers and Assessments;conducting Fire Risk Assessments for all properties and events; andconducting and observing practical fire safety evacuation drills.
 Amongst other skills, the successful applicant will have:  Level 3 Award in Fire Risk management;Level 4 Certificate in Fire Safety (Assessor);IOSH Managing Safely;experience of conducting fire risk assessments;specialist knowledge of fire legislation and relevant codes of practice underpinned by theoretical knowledge and relevant working experience; andeffective and clear communication skills both written and verbal.
You will also be expected to share in St Paul’s Cathedral’s commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults.In return you’ll find we are a welcoming place to work and we each take responsibility for our part in the Cathedral’s work, looking after St Paul’s for the next generation.

Senior HR Advisor

We are looking to recruit 2 Senior HR Advisors; who are passionate about supporting our staff as they care for this historic landmark, provide Christian worship and welcome visitors from across the world. As a key part of a small HR team, you will work in partnership with managers to understand the operation of their areas and to provide operational HR interventions and people plans to deliver the Cathedral’s mission, strategies, values and business plans.  You will lead on all aspects of HR responsibility within your assigned business areas, including recruitment, employee management, development and training.  You will also support the Head of HR to review policies and deliver projects. We would love to hear from you if you have: extensive experience of working in a fast-paced HR environment; excellent relationship-building skills; and   up-to-date knowledge and experience of UK employment law and advising on HR policies and procedures. HR and Payroll Administrator

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced administrator to join the HR department in one of the most iconic buildings in the world, St Paul’s Cathedral. We are seeking to appoint an HR and Payroll Administrator. This is a key role in our HR team, providing essential first point of contact support to our staff and back-office administration for the HR department itself.  The successful candidate will be responsible for administration relating to recruitment, payroll and training, and also provide support in preparing correspondence in other areas such as employee relations casework, pay awards and benefits. As such, this is a great opportunity for candidates to gain experience across the wide remit of HR and the role could serve as a strong starting point for a career within HR for those with the desire to progress. To be successful we expect you to: be welcoming and confident in your approach to people; have payroll and office-based administrative experience with excellent organisational skills; be confident in the use of Microsoft Office and in particular Excel; have accurate data entry skills. Visitor Engagement Programme Manager

We are looking to recruit a Visitor Engagement Programme Manager on a fixed term 12-month contract. Someone who is passionate about attracting new and existing visitors by building partner relationships to organise an exciting and commercially sustainable programme of visitor exhibitions, activities and events aimed at a wide range of audiences. Reporting to the Head of Visitor Operations, you will lead on planning our activities for the Wren 300 celebrations in 2023, as well assisting with the development of future exhibition themes and programming activity for 2024, based on evaluation findings. We would love to hear from you if you have: • a track record of success in delivering visitor led experiences and visitor programming within a complex, cultural, commercial, heritage or visitor attraction setting;
• the ability to devise, design and produce a range of visitor programming experiences and partnerships based on research, data and trends;
• proven organisational and project management skills; and
• excellent interpersonal, team working and stakeholder management skills.
