Event and Digital Support Assistant

We're recruiting an Event and Digital Support Assistant, to join the St Paul’s Cathedral Institute, part of our Chancellor's directorate.The St Paul’s Cathedral Institute offers a wide range of events, which seek to explore the big questions of life. Its work focuses on three key areas: faith and spirituality, art and history, and contemporary issues and ideas which are explored in a variety of different ways through talks, seminars, short articles, online conversations and podcasts as well as opportunities for quiet reflection. This role will be an integral part of the St Paul’s Cathedral Institute, involving event support, audience management and engaging in editing digital programmes. This exciting role will involve working cross collaboratively with different internal departments and external stakeholders to deliver seamless events, through excellent event administration. The successful applicant will have:demonstrable knowledge of events and audience management, along with some experience of programme editing and website editingeffective, clear communication skills, both written and verbalexcellent organisational and time management skills.The successful applicant will also be expected to share in our commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults. In return you’ll find we are a welcoming place to work and we each take responsibility for our part in the Cathedral’s work, looking after St Paul’s for the next generation. Our annual holiday allowance is 25 days plus bank holidays (FTE).Our pension scheme allows for up to 7.5% employer contribution.We have life assurance of four times basic salary and an employee assistance programme We are committed to creating and sustaining a diverse and inclusive workforce that represents our context and wider community. We are aware that those of United Kingdom Minority Ethnic / Global Majority Heritage, women, and disabled people are currently under-represented in our workforce, and we particularly encourage applications from those with the relevant skills and experience that will increase our representation.Please note there will be regular additional mandatory evening and weekend work to meet the requirements of the role, for which time off in lieu will be granted. Interviews will take place on Wednesday 6th August 2025. Fire Safety Officer

We are looking for an experienced Fire Safety Officer, to join our Property team, to ensure the management and compliance of all aspects of fire safety, prevention and protection across all St Paul’s Cathedral properties.

In this role, responsibilities will include:reviewing, updating and, where necessary, developing fire safety policies and procedures to ensure they reflect current legislation and best practice;leading on embedding and championing a positive fire safety culture;developing and delivering (personally or using approved external providers) fire safety training;managing the work within the Action Plan of the Safety Committee;reviewing and developing the organisational level Risk Register for fire safety and supporting the development of departmental Risk Registers and Assessments;conducting Fire Risk Assessments for all properties and events; andconducting and observing practical fire safety evacuation drills.
 Amongst other skills, the successful applicant will have:  Level 3 Award in Fire Risk management;Level 4 Certificate in Fire Safety (Assessor);IOSH Managing Safely;experience of conducting fire risk assessments;specialist knowledge of fire legislation and relevant codes of practice underpinned by theoretical knowledge and relevant working experience; andeffective and clear communication skills both written and verbal.
You will also be expected to share in St Paul’s Cathedral’s commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults.In return you’ll find we are a welcoming place to work and we each take responsibility for our part in the Cathedral’s work, looking after St Paul’s for the next generation.
