Travel back in time to the Middle Ages through handling artefacts recovered by licensed Mudlarks from the River Thames. 

See some of the personal belongings which people escaping from the Great Fire of London lost as they crossed the river fleeing from the all-consuming inferno. Mudlarks will display thousands of historic artefacts from their private collections which reveal fascinating stories about past Londoners and the perils they lived through. You won’t want to miss this unique opportunity to hold history in your hands and talk to the mudlarks who discovered the ancient artefacts.

This free exhibition is part of the Thames Festival which celebrates the River Thames with arts events, active adventures, environmental initiatives, heritage and education programmes.
