We are looking to recruit for exceptional, part-time Sales Assistants to work as part of the Cathedral shop team supporting the trading subsidiary, St Paul’s Cathedral Enterprises, of this iconic Central London landmark.
As well as serving our visitors and customers by providing exceptional customer care and assistance/information, you will help in the day-to-day operational activities of the Cathedral shop. This involves operating the tills and handling cash and stock.
To be effective in the role you’ll have excellent customer service skills, ideally gained in a visitor-facing role in a busy environment.
We would love for you to apply if you have:
• Experience in a retail environment
• Experience in cash-handling and computerised systems, in particular tills
• Confident and clear communication skills, both written and verbal
The icing on the cake would be advanced skills in a language other than English to engage with our visitors from across the globe.
As the Cathedral serves as a place of worship, a centre of learning and a visitor attraction 365 days a year, you will need to work some Saturdays and bank holidays as part of the annualised hours rota.
In return you’ll find we are a welcoming place to work and we each take responsibility for our part in the Cathedral’s work, looking after St Paul’s for the next generation.
• Our holiday allowance is 33 days (FTE) including bank holidays
• Our pension scheme allows for up to 7.5% employer contribution
• And as you might expect we have life assurance of four times basic salary and an employee assistance programme.
We are an inclusive employer and welcome candidates from all backgrounds. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and adults at risk and expect our whole team to share in this commitment.
The closing date for applications is 13th June 2022. Interviews will take place on 21st June 2022.
