On Sunday 30th June 2024, two girls from St Paul’s Cathedral School formally joined the St Paul’s Cathedral Choir as full choristers for the first time in its 900-year history.
The Crown and the Bishop of London are seeking to appoint a senior priest to the post of Residentiary Canon and Precentor, as the Chapter Executive Lead for the Liturgy, Worship and Special Events.
As a member of Chapter, you will be fully involved in the spiritual life, outreach, governance and operations of the Cathedral. You will be committed to good stewardship of people and resources, inter-culturally skilled and strategically creative.

As a Residentiary Canon, you will be fully involved in the mission, work and ministry of the Cathedral, with a calling to inspire and encourage others with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

The Precentor will oversee, manage and support the work of the Liturgy, Worship and Special Events Directorate. As Director, the Precentor is responsible for around 20 FTE staff with a budget of £1.5m rising to £2.3m following Girls’ Voices Project 2025.
