Cleaner

We are looking for a new recruit to join our friendly cleaning team, working in the Cathedral and its associated buildings. This is a fantastic opportunity to work behind the scenes of one of the most iconic buildings in the world, keeping it safe and clean for all its visitors and staff. The role includes cleaning the steps leading up to the famous frontage of the Cathedral, the vast and beautiful Cathedral floor, the largest crypt in Europe, the hidden corridor of the Triforium, the breath-taking galleries, plus staff offices and communal areas. To thrive in this role, you’ll need to be comfortable with the everyday manual work, including the 500+ stairs to the Galleries. We’d also love someone with a positive approach to work, who is reliable and who enjoys working as part of a team. In return you’ll find we are a welcoming place to work and we each take responsibility for our part in the Cathedral’s work, looking after St Paul’s for the next generation. • Our holiday allowance is 25 days plus bank holidays • Our pension scheme allows for up to 7.5% employer contribution • And as you might expect we have life assurance of four times basic salary and an employee assistance programme. We’ll also make sure you have the training and management support to do a great job. Our rota, which does include some weekend and bank holiday working, ensures that shifts are divided fairly among the team to support a good work-life balance, with no late nights and only a few early mornings. HR and Payroll Administrator

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced administrator to join the HR department in one of the most iconic buildings in the world, St Paul’s Cathedral. We are seeking to appoint an HR and Payroll Administrator. This is a key role in our HR team, providing essential first point of contact support to our staff and back-office administration for the HR department itself.  The successful candidate will be responsible for administration relating to recruitment, payroll and training, and also provide support in preparing correspondence in other areas such as employee relations casework, pay awards and benefits. As such, this is a great opportunity for candidates to gain experience across the wide remit of HR and the role could serve as a strong starting point for a career within HR for those with the desire to progress. To be successful we expect you to: be welcoming and confident in your approach to people; have payroll and office-based administrative experience with excellent organisational skills; be confident in the use of Microsoft Office and in particular Excel; have accurate data entry skills. The Dean of St Paul’s announces retirement in 2022

The Dean of St Paul’s, the Very Revd Dr David Ison, has announced his intention to retire in September 2022.
Dr David Ison will be 68, and will have served at the Cathedral for ten years. The Dean leads the Cathedral assisted by the Residentiary and Lay Canons, enabling Chapter to implement the agreed vision for St Paul's. Recruitment for the next Dean of St Paul’s will begin later this year.

Chaperone to the Choristers

The Chaperone will uphold the Cathedral’s and School’s safeguarding policies by supervising children appropriately, promoting a safe and respectful environment, and serving as a point of contact for any concerns. This role plays a vital part in supporting the Choir’s musical mission while prioritising the protection and welfare of its youngest members.The Chaperone will; attend all rehearsals in the Choir Practice Room, moving between activities taking place in the various rooms, when necessary, being available 10 minutes before and after the rehearsal;accompany the Choristers and the Probationers on their journey from the Cathedral to the School after rehearsals (with Music Department staff);attend one Evensong service per week at which the Choristers are singing;be available to support the Choristers undertaking duties at times of national importance. These can occur unexpectedly and sometimes during the school holidays;ensure that Choristers are properly dressed and tidy prior to services;attend one meal per week in School – breakfast/dinner/Sunday lunch.The successful candidate will have;previous experience of working with children aged 7 to 13;have experience and knowledge of safeguarding requirements and procedures and will be expected to share in St Paul’s Cathedral’s commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults;have clearance from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) at the Enhanced level (with Barred Lists).St Paul’s Cathedral is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children, young people, and vulnerable adults. We expect all staff, volunteers, and those working on our behalf to share this commitment.We are also committed to creating and sustaining a diverse and inclusive workforce that represents our context and wider community. Senior Individual Giving and Membership Manager

Working closely with the Director of Development and the wider Development and Cathedral team, you will lead on all individual and regular giving, membership programmes and legacy fundraising across the Cathedral in order to significantly increase these income streams to secure more diverse and sustainable income for St Paul’s Cathedral in preparation for a transformational Development Campaign from 2025.
