Following years of research, Dr John Wall, Professor of English at North Carolina State University (NCSU) and leader of the Virtual Paul's Cross
Project, discusses and presents his work.
VIEW VIRTUAL PAUL'S CROSS
Researchers have created an auditory and visual simulation of what it might have been like to stand in front of St Paul's Cross pulpit in the courtyard of St Paul's Cathedral almost 400 years ago.
Literature and architecture researchers at NCSU have created a script and built an acoustic model to simulate the way John Donne's 1622 Gunpowder Day sermon would have sounded from different vantage points within St Paul's courtyard.
Professor Wall will discuss the research and delivery of the project and demonstrate the results - a remarkable reconstruction of pre-Fire St Paul's which brings the lively social and spiritual hub in the north churchyard back to life.
