Volunteers' Week 2021: Thank you to all our volunteers!
07 June 2021
Each year, Volunteers’ Week is a time to say thanks for the contribution millions of people make across the UK through volunteering. As Volunteers' Week 2021 draws to a close, we have many messages of gratitude and support from the St Paul's clergy and staff teams to share with our own dedicated volunteers, who contribute so much to the life and mission of the Cathedral.
Precentor, the Reverend Canon James Milne said,
'Our varied pattern of prayer and worship is greatly enhanced by a wide range of volunteers who give freely of their time and expertise. Their support and encouragement of our worshipping life is invaluable and very much appreciated.'
Sacrist Reverend Robert Coupland filmed this message of thanks for those who volunteer with the Liturgical Department.
Over the course of the week, we've celebrated the work of our Wandsmen, Bellringers, Communion Assistants, Altar Severs, Flower Arrangers and Broderers, Trustees and Committee Members and many more. Our Visitor Experience Managers said about our team of Cathedral Floor Guides,
'It is with enormous pride that we work with such a passionate and enthusiastic team of Cathedral Floor Volunteers. Their knowledge of the Cathedral and interaction with our visitors is regularly acknowledged by the amazing feedback we receive on how much they have enriched people’s experience. We can never thank you enough for your invaluable support and commitment.'
Chaplain Reverend Paula Hollingsworth spoke about the work of the Pastoral Team in her specially filmed video.
The Schools & Family Learning team also had a few words to say about all of the work of their volunteers, too.
Finally, to close the week the Dean, the Very Reverend Dr David Ison praised all of the St Paul's volunteers for their commitment and hard work, and offered blessings for the future.
