Free tickets for Bach Passion now available online

Free tickets to St Paul's annual performance of J S Bach's St John Passion are now available online.

The first batch of tickets released for the St John Passion on April 15 have now been fully subscribed.
A further batch will be released in the near future.
To make sure you hear about this release first, please check the Cathedral website, or follow the Cathedral either on Twitter or Facebook.
An announcement will be made through all these channels 24 hours before the tickets are released.

The performance, at 6.30pm on Tuesday 15 April, is an integral part of the Cathedral's worship during the period of Lent.

The Cathedral Choir and Chorus will sing the work in its original German, accompanied by the London Mozart Players. The Cathedral's Director of Music, Andrew Carwood, will conduct.

One thousand free tickets for the performance are now available via the EventBrite ticketing website at

There will be a retiring collection after the performance.

The St John Passion is just one important date in the Cathedral during Lent. The 46 days from Ash Wednesday to Easter Sunday see a host of special services, marking this holy season in the Church's year. These include Palm Sunday, Maundy Thursday and Good Friday.

Full listings for Lent, Holy Week and Easter are now available in a special suite of website pages.
