London schools celebrate with dance, music, song and stories
London Diocesan Board of Schools service
23 January 2017
Tight rhythm and melodic phrasing by the Holy Trinity Tottenham Primary School Steel Pans set the scene for a service which brought together ambassadors from over 150 Schools across London (and a little beyond).
Through dance, music, song and telling their stories, 1,300 children, young people and adults celebrated the vibrant work of the many Church of England Schools and Academies supported by the London Diocesan Board of Schools.
Hearing the Grand Organ filling the space with a diversity of sounds we were reminded that every pupil, every school, every part of our communities each has something to contribute to an astounding whole.
This theme will be taken forward over the next few weeks as each school receives a postcard of greeting and encouragement written and contributed by one of the other schools present.
This service will be the first of many similar gatherings and links to the other work St Paul’s is engaged in through our Music Outreach Programme and our Schools and Family Learning.
