Summer Holidays 2017

For the summer holidays, we invite everyone to take part in Cathedral life, with special activities designed especially for families visiting St Paul's.

As at all times of year, families visiting St Paul's have the option to turn their day ticket into an annual pass at no extra cost. 

We hope you enjoy your visit to St Paul's this summer. Do keep an eye out for events and activities taking place in the future.

Turn your day ticket into an annual pass - for free!
If you buy a sightseeing ticket either online or at the door, you can instantly turn it into an annual pass by using Gift Aid as part of your purchase. This will allow you to return at no extra cost for a whole calendar year, meaning you can come and see us again and take part in family activities in all the school holidays. The Gift Aid option is explained in the online ticketing process and full information is available from the Cathedral's admissions staff.
This offer is available on adult, child, concession and family tickets. A family ticket (two adults, two children) costs £39 online and £44 on the door.

Special drop-in activities

Thursday 3 August

On the theme 'memories', explore the history and significance of the World War 1 altar frontal, created by servicemen recovering from injury. Design and make your own altar frontal design, using cross-stitch and other materials.

Historical characters are at the heart of activities on the theme 'monuments'. Explore the many historical figures found in St Paul's, including Florence Nightingale, Lord Nelson, and Christopher Wren, and create your own historical figure.

St Paul's is home to not one, but three organs, and a world-famous choir with music forming a central part of life at St Paul's for centuries. Create your own musical instrument using different materials.

Discover the mosaics of St Paul's and the stories they tell, from Bible scenes to animals of the earth, sea and sky. Inspired by these, decorate your own mosaics and decide what stories you might tell. 
There is no need to book for any of these activities and you are able to join and leave at any time. Suitable for children aged 4-11. 
 

Summer Lates: Visit St Paul's after hours this summer

On seven evenings during the summer holidays, St Paul's is opening its doors for visitors to explore after hours. These evenings are great for London families who relish the opportunity to be tourists in their own city. For these special evenings, photography is encouraged, a rare chance for any budding photographers! Find out more and book here
 

All day, every day - included in price of admission

Multimedia guides Our multimedia guides let you discover more about all areas of the Cathedral as well as transporting you back in time to some of the most notable times in the history of St Paul's. Available in nine languages these high-resolution touch screen devices are filled with interactive content, fly-throughs of the dome galleries, zoomable close-ups, commentary from historical figures such as Christopher Wren, Florence Nightingale and Admiral Nelson, and a number of activities and quizzes.
Climb the Dome Climb the iconic dome of St Paul's, a total of 528 steps to the very top, for panoramic views of London that take in the River Thames, Tate Modern and Shakespeare's Globe Theatre. 
Cathedral trails Family trails allow children to discover the Cathedral at their own pace and are packed with fun facts and opportunities to find things, write creatively and draw pictures. They can all be printed in advance of your visit (just click on the pictures) but plenty will be available once inside.

Cathedral services As a busy working church, acts of worship are part of our daily life.
